6 June, 1944, and the long awaited invasion has begun. The Allies have established a foothold on the beaches of Normandy and are advancing slowly inland. However, on June 7, 1944, history is going to be re-written. Field Marshall Goering kept his promise to re-equip the Luftwaffe in France. When the Allied air forces reached the coast of France, they were met by swarms of Germany's fighters. Instead of the Panzer Divisions being mauled by the Allied fighter-bombers, they met the Allied infantry divisions head-on and in full strength. This scenario pits Kampfgruppe Wunsche of the 12th SS HitlerJugend against the advancing Canadian Army.

Now I'm confused
Brian Taylor (2003), Barbarossa to Berlin, vol. 1, p. 41 wrote: "Buch's 16th Army, also developed its attacks successfully, Kaunas, Lithuania's second cuty, falling to the 10th Korp as the Niemen was crossed. Morozov had given up Kaunas without a fight due to the 8th Army's inability to hold the line of the Niemen." (24 june, 1941)
SSTK was later to follow Manstein to Dvinsk (Daugavpils), don't think they ever was involved in any fighting around Kaunas?

I prefer "real" maps and "historical" senarios. I'm willing to take part if any designer wants help with playtesting e g.

Hey every one!
Just uploaded 6 scenario's in 2 packs covering the 3rdSS Totenkopf's role in operation Barbarossa.
One pack covers the offensive, the second covers defensive actions in the Demjansk pocket.
All the maps are historically accurate (except topography on Kaunas). But scenario's are semi historical because data on the forces deployed in the respective fields of play is inadequate currently.
I hope you download and play and comment!
The next pack coming covers the division's ( Kampfgruppe Eicke) attempts too break out of the pocket, and then hold open the Rumeshevo Corridor. Both forces in those battles will be severely fatigued and at half strength as the forces in that area where exhausted at this point in the fighting.
just a disclaimer these scenario's have no political message or any other bias. the goal of these scenarios is too attempt too recreate the conditions and the combat this unit endured during its career on the Ost front.
